  2.  WAVmaker 2.5 for Windows 3.1 - Evaluation Package

  5.  WAVmaker 2.5 for Windows 3.1 features CD quality  MID -> WAV 
  6.  rendering, WAV recording, tons of Digital Signal Processing 
  7.  functions (mix, offset/maximize, fade, gate, compress, enhance, 
  8.  low/high/band/notch filter, ring modulation, vocoder, reverse, 
  9.  echo, reverb, flange, chorus, extend, cut, gated cut) and MIDI 
  10.  analysis/manipulation. Full on-line documentation is included.

  12.  WAVmaker is shareware. What you have received is the WAVmaker 
  13.  Evaluation Package. For size reasons, it can't be distributed 
  14.  with the sound library files included in the GMega Sound Library,
  15.  which is delivered on ten standard diskettes upon registration.
  16.  Instead, it comes with a few demo files on the old format used 
  17.  by previous WAVmaker versions. For the corresponding files on 
  18.  the new format, get the GMega Library Demo (gmega11.zip) e.g. 
  19.  from WAVmaker's Home Page, http://www.abc.se/~m9303.

  21.  Version 2.5 is a FREE upgrade for all registered users of version
  22.  2.0-2.4 (Advanced AND Standard). Users with an Advanced registration 
  23.  for versions 2.0-2.4 will still get a free update to the next major 
  24.  release when it becomes available. Compliments of Tommy Anderberg!

  26.  What's new: 
  27.  
  28.  This is a combined bug-fix and "administrative" release in occasion 
  29.  of the switch to Kagi (http://www.kagi.com) for all my shareware order 
  30.  taking. If you already have registered WAVmaker 2.4 and have installed
  31.  the latest build or patches (January 22, 1996) there is no real reason
  32.  to install version 2.5.
  33.  
  34.  *** IMPORTANT ***: The ECHO.INI and REVERB.INI created by WAVmaker 
  35.  2.0 are not compatible with higher versions. If you intend to 
  36.  install WAVmaker 2.5 over version 2.0, you should delete ECHO.INI 
  37.  and REVERB.INI first.
  38.  
  39.  The Evaluation Package may be distributed freely for evaluation 
  40.  purposes. Full distribution and registration information is in the 
  41.  on-line docs.

  43.  SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: 386+. FPU recommended. MS Windows 3.1.
  44.                       3.7 MB free disk space (10+ MB recommended). 
  45.                       High quality sound card (16 bits/44.1 kHz/
  46.                       stereo) strongly recommended.

  48.  NOTE: WAVmaker 2.4 is also available for Windows 95/NT.

  50.  If at all possible, use a good amplifier/speaker system (not pitiful 
  51.  PC gamer's speakers) to fully enjoy WAVmaker's CD quality output.

  53.  INSTALLATION:        Run SETUP.EXE.

  55.  *** IMPORTANT ***: If you do not have a hardware floating point
  56.  unit, and you do not have a copy of the Watcom C/C++ compiler 
  57.  installed under Windows, you must add the following line to the 
  58.  [386Enh] section of your SYSTEM.INI file, in the Windows directory:

  60.  device=<path>WEMU387.386
  61.  
  62.  where <path> is the the directory where you have installed WAVmaker, 
  63.  e.g. C:\WMWIN\. Windows must be restarted for this line to take 
  64.  effect.
